Yoga and You

In this age of fast life, multitasking, yoga offers real value for money approach to improve their physical well-being and emotional. There are many benefits from this ancient practice.

From my experience of yoga, students have many reasons for departure. Among them, yoga for back pain, stress relief, nutrition, personal care and to improve flexibility and core strength.

In its purest form, yoga is a blend of five essential practices – asanas, breathing practices, meditation techniques, relaxation and nutrition. Each of these techniques has a positive impact on their emotional well-being, physical and spiritual.

As a beginner may feel confused and not sure of the wider benefits of yoga practices differ. So please, take a back seat and allow me to introduce you gently to some of the benefits of yoga, breathing exercises and meditation.

Three main techniques of yoga and its benefits

I. Yoga

1. Yoga aims to work on the energy centers (chakras). As you expand and maintain an attitude of internal blockages and release energy flows freely through your body.This means you have more energy and vitality to cope with the demands placed on you.

2. Yoga postures help to detoxify the body and can help accelerate the elimination of toxins and bacteria in the body. Twisting poses, Triangle Pose as a cable with a twist of the spine or Twist half giving a deep massage and soft internal organs of the body and help energize the gastrointestinal system.

3. Yoga poses help increase flexibility, toning and strengthening muscles. For example, the bow position helps tone and strengthen the back muscles and maintains the elasticity of the spine. Fish Pose relieves stiffness in the neck and shoulders and helps to strengthen the arm muscles. On an emotional level, the attitude of fish open and expand the chest, which helps release energy sadness and pain in the heart center, that leaves you calmer and more expansive.

II.  Pranayama

yogic breathing exercises known as pranayama helps to revitalize and energize you.

1.In an advanced level, breathing allows you to take oxygen into your body and eliminate toxins and bacteria that prevent the body’s ability to function properly.

2. The slower and deeper you breathe, giving more oxygen to enter and flow through your body. This expands your lung capacity, stimulating and open your heart, that instantly makes you feel refreshed, revitalized and energerised.

3. Yoga breathing exercises also help calm the nervous system and increase oxygen levels and blood supply to internal organs, which lead to a profound sense of peace, inner calm and balance. Learning to breathe properly is a wonderful skill that you can use anytime during the day when you feel worried, confused and anxious and want to calm down and refocus.

III. Meditation Techniques

Meditation techniques will help you think more clearly, quickly and creatively to have a positive effect on their ability to focus and concentrate on work. As you reflect on your body undergoes certain physiological effects that counteract the negative effects of stress and worry.

1.Brain activity slows down due to an increase in alpha brain wave activity.
2.Heartbeat and slower breathing rate and falling levels of blood lactate.
3.Meditation promotes positive thoughts and loving. A bonus in times of conflict and problems.
4.Meditation techniques to deepen their experience of relaxation and rest. If you have trouble sleeping a few minutes of meditation at bedtime works wonders to promote sleep.

Summary

As you can see, yoga exercises, meditation and breathing can help relieve stress, energy and calm. As a beginner, regular personal practice is the best way to truly live and embrace the physical, emotional and spiritual inherent yoga.
